so I wanted to paint a picture of them (well... from the waist down) against a background of flames, call it "Fire!" and hang it above the bed -- he won't hear of it! (I could have sworn any man would have been thrilled with such a proposition... especially after 13 years of being married)

he wants me to paint a reproduction of "The School of Athens," for his den, instead... -- how boring is that? (if I'll ever do anything of the kind it's going to have me in it... as Socrates... nude and winking...)
